The Kinderhaus program . . .
The Kinderhaus Montessori environment is divided into several subject areas; practical life, sensorial, math, language, geometric shapes, and art. The exercises in practical life help children grow in independence in regard to looking after themselves and their environment, motor skills, and social relations.
The sensorial materials serve to educate the senses and help children train themselves to observe, make comparisons, form judgments, and use reason.
The math, language, geometric shapes and art areas include materials which encourage children to learn the basic concepts of each discipline through hands-on or manipulative activities.
In addition to individualized work, each class enjoys circle time, music, and story time. During circle time, children share their news and learn finger-plays, simple dances and songs.
Snack time is also and important part of the Kinderhaus day. Not only do the children have a nutritious snack, but they continue to use their practical life skills by setting up and serving their snack, and practicing everyday manners and courtesy.
Kinderhaus offers a well - rounded program for preschoolers. The teacher's attitude and classroom atmosphere of orderliness, friendliness, and respect fosters cognitive, social, emotional and motor growth in each child. The wonderful Montessori materials allow the children to gain proficiency in many areas of development. The Montessori philosophy encourages each child to expand at his of her own rate.
Our teachers are selected for their educational background and experience and their ability to communicate and relate with children. We have three teachers on staff with on also functioning as Director.
